IMANI MITCHELL is a theatre director and playwright based in
New York City. She is a 2025 Drama League Fellow.
Directing credits include Skeleton Crew, I and You, Chicken & Biscuits, Pipeline, Crumbs from the Table of Joy, What to Send Up When It Goes Down, Predictor, Lobby Hero, Love & Baseball, and Zora & Langston. Assistant directing credits include Saturday Church at New York Theater Workshop.
Her original play Zora & Langston received the 2024 Best Production Award at the SheLA Theater Festival. Her screenwriting credits include the feature film Whirlpool and short films The Second Pill, I Remember Yesterday, and Invisible Man.
